Wild and Wacky-The END!

Jane finds things in the area near to Orlando that might just make you want to make a stop before you arrive at the Sewcation hotel, The Hyatt Grand Cypress (look for an up-coming SAGA guest blog post for more information regarding the hotel!)

Around the Orlando Area

If you are still looking for photos of “wild or wacky” to add to your collection, you can find some in the Orlando area.

Kissimmee, FL

·         Giant Ice Cream Stand similar to other Twistee Treats.

·        Crazy Wizard Gift Shop

A giant Wizard adorns the top a gift store. He has a huge beard,  his outstretched arms extend the length of the building, and his staff glows with neon at night. (5265 W  Bronson Memorial Hwy about 3.5 mi E of I-4 exit 64).

·        Giant Golf Ball on Tee

A giant yellow golf ball on a purple tee advertises a miniature golf course. (2845 Florida Plaza Blvd)

·         World’s Largest Orange at Orange World

Eli's Orange World has the world's largest orange. You can find a wide array of citrus themed products there. It appeared in the movie "Marvin's Room" and the "Program About Unusual Buildings & Other Roadside Stuff," a 2004 PBS documentary.

Of note…

~I hope you were able to use some of these ideas for a much needed stop either to or from Orlando…or just had some laughs reading them… or will save them as ideas for future trips for yourselves or visitors…

~If someone in your vehicle has a Smart phone, you can find highway information:  www.i10guide.com, www.i75guide.com and www.i95guide.com

Wild and Wacky or Worth the Stop or Detour was a wonderful learning experience for me… and I apologize for its lengthiness due to my fascination with the areas and some of the offerings.  I hope to travel the I 10 and I 75 someday (I have already done the I 95).  I certainly would need to incorporate some of Lisa’s information on FABRIC STORES!!!

HAVE A SAFE TRIP!
See you in Orlando!
